Logistic regression was used to calculate odds ratios and 95% CIs; the low-medium-high concentration of cobalt are referring to the tertiles and lose-dose group of cobalt was consider as a reference; all models were adjusted for maternal age, gestational age, education, taking folic acid (yes, no), parental smoking (yes, no), maternal pre-pregnancy BMI and iron, and calcium concentration. Significant differences between the mothers of case and control were indicated by the following: *P < 0.05, ***P < 0.001 or **P < 0.01
