  1. Advanced periodontitis is defined as periodontal pocket ≥ 6.0 mm. Low reticulocyte levels were <5.175×104 cells/μL for men and <4.926×104 cells/μL for women. Model 1: adjusted only for sex and age. Model 2: adjusted further for smoking status (never, former, current), remained number of teeth, status of decayed teeth (presence, absence), carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), and hemoglobin. Model 3: adjusted further for glomerular filtration rate (GFR)
