The combination of isoliquiritigenin and TRAIL causes nuclear fragmentation in HT29 cells. Colon cancer HT29 cells were treated with 10 ng/ml TRAIL and/or 40 μM isoliquiritigenin for 24 h. Nuclei were stained with DAPI after methanol fixation and observed by fluorescence microscopy. The pan-caspase inhibitor zVAD-fmk was added at the same time as TRAIL and isoliquiritigenin. Apoptotic cells are indicated with arrows
